Pam was one of the Founders at ProActive, back in 2012. Her career as a CPA started in South Florida over thirty years ago and brought her to Gainesville in 2007, where she quickly established herself as a trusted advisor to local businesses. All that ProActive does now and in the future is built on the foundation Pam began and we are grateful for the years we spent together, advising clients and making tax returns!

Heath is a Gainesville native and is working toward her Accounting Degree from the University of Florida.

Sydney is a Gainesville native and is working toward her Accounting Degree from the University of Florida.

Elaine was with ProActive from the very beginning, managing tax and payroll projects. Prior to joining ProActive, Elaine was office manager for a legal firm. She has also owned and operated her own PartyLite business for more than twenty-five years.

Elaine is an Enrolled Agent with the Internal Revenue Service and has completed Financial Peace University.

Elaine’s hobbies include sewing, quilting and needlework, reading, gardening, and cooking. She enjoys spending time with her children, grandchildren, dog, and two “naked baby” Sphinx cats.

Scarlette is the glue that holds everything together at ProActive, making sure projects move forward and get done on time and as promised. She is married and has three kids and enjoys fishing and the outdoors.

Lacey oversees monthly accounting, payroll, and other needs for our monthly clients. She was born in Ohio and has two boys that keep her on her toes. When not working at ProActive, she enjoys riding dirt bikes with them.

Born and raised in Gainesville, Tom has spent most of his career helping small business owners in one way or another. He really enjoys helping local businesses overcome obstacles to success so that they can reach their goals.

Tom is a UF graduate, having received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Accounting from the University of Florida (Go Gators!). He fondly remembers attending UF during the early days of the Spurrier era, back when Burrito Brothers was still a hole in the wall on 13th Street! He is a licensed CPA by the State of Florida. Previously, he held Series 6, 7, and 65 securities licenses and worked as a bank-based financial advisor.

Tom is married to Blakely, a 5th-grade teacher in Alachua County, and they have five children. They enjoy trips with family and the occasional day at the beach.

Coming up on a decade with ProActive, Tom enjoys working with firm clients in many different industries and understanding the things that are unique to each client and also the things that are the same for clients across different industries. His greatest passion is helping clients run their businesses more effectively and to that end, he coaches clients on goal setting, budgeting, critical tasks, evaluation and feedback, and more. He also helps clients with tactical issues, such as making proper estimated tax payments and saving enough to meet their retirement goals.

Prior to joining the ProActive Team, Tom worked with a pair of local technology firms and also provided investment guidance and financial planning for many years.

Tom is an avid fan of most music and movies from the 1960s to the 1990s and would love to hear about your favorites!
